Code of the road still breathes: Thanks Damo
TRUCKIES aren't scary blokes - they're knights in shining armour as this one has proved.
Mum Fiona Semple took to the Road Trains Australia Facebook group this morning to thank one truckie, who only went by Damo, for helping her 17-year-old daughter.
"Thank goodness there's some great blokes (and women) left in our industry," she wrote.
"My 17-year-old daughter got a flat tyre between Tennant Creek and 3 Ways in the NT and the jack broke.
"Luckily she wasn't in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, a bloke who drives a Liberty fuel truck pulled up and went back to help. Then the car had a flat battery, so he unhooked his trailers and got the car going.
"I can't thank you enough for your kindness and willingness to help, which is something that unfortunately seems to be disappearing these days."
Fiona's post in the group attracted more than 760 likes and more than 60 comments of others in the industry congratulating Damo for helping the young woman.
"Good work Damo," one wrote.
"The code of the road still breathes away from the east coast."
